Usher thinks that Justin Bieber's real-life issues and troubles will in turn improve his music.

Having multiple scrapes with the law in the past year, Justin's on a treacherous path but Usher thinks it's all part of Justin's life and will ultimately make his protégé a better musician.

Speaking to The Guardian newspaper he explained: "Any artist has ebbs and flows in their life and career."

Rising to fame in 2007 via YouTube before release smash hit single 'Baby' in 2010, Justin's been arrested for multiple offences including vandalism and dangerous driving.

Mentor Usher thinks that Justin still has his best to offer however.

"I think the story is just begun, you've not seen the best of his talent. In life, you have to go through something to get to something.

"From that the inspiration comes having something of substance to talk about; otherwise you're just considered to be fluff."

Meanwhile, Usher himself is to release his new album 'UR' next year, and is able to speak from experience about the young singer, because elders in the music industry once gave him vital advice.

Referring to what James Brown told him, he recalled: "He always told me, 'If you stay ready, you ain't got to get ready.' "

And he said that Michael Jackson told him: "[He told me] if you want to continue to be great, you've got to work hard."
