Giving Thorpe Park Resort a taster of what their brand new album sound will be like, Brad Simpson, James McVey, Conor Ball and Tristan Evans flew into the park especially to open proceedings for Island Beats, following on from a leg of their USA tour.

Hours before the show at the resort, Brad revealed that the new record is almost ready.

"We are 87% done on the album, just finishing touches to go. It [sounds] a bit more like Imagine Dragons or MGMT. A bit more alternative, but hopefully the fans enjoy it. It's got a bit more of a rockier edge in parts, but we are really happy with it so far and looking forward to having it in our hands as an album... it's 80s synth in parts, which we quite like.

"The album is due in November and the first single will be out about a month and a half before that."

After the chat, the group were treated to a platter of creepy crawly treats from the park's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here attraction.

Island Beats will see a summer season of music gigs every Friday and Saturday from now until August 30.

Little Mix are the next Island Beats headline act, performing at Thorpe Park on July 17.
