Stereo Kicks member Tom Mann has admitted that the former X Factor group are now glad to be away from their mentor on the show, Louis Walsh.
Put together by Simon Cowell during their time on the series, the eight-piece boyband fell foul to criticism from Louis because he made it clear during the competition that he thought there were too many members in the group.
Speaking to The Sun, Mann states that he thinks Walsh made their time on The X Factor more difficult.
"We had a bumpy ride because everyone was like, 'Are there too many, are there too many?'
"Obviously Louis didn't exactly help the situation by suggesting that a couple of us should be kicked out of the band."
He went on to add that he'd "be lying if I said I wish we were still with Louis. If I'm honest then I'd say we're glad to be away from him."
Mann had some kinder words to share about his ex-mentor though, stating: "Louis is lovely, but I don't think he was right for us. Sometimes he does say the wrong things, so we're happy to be doing our own thing."
He also said it was a "massive honour" to have a song he's written to be released as the band's official debut single since landing their deal with Sony Records.
Meanwhile, it looks like Louis could be out of X Factor for good, as he recently said he was "done" with the show.
"I want to go back to being a manager. That's my day job and I've neglected it for a long time because I'm away so much."
