Shaun Ryder found recording in Panama "life changing".
The 52-year-old singer was joined by his Happy Mondays bandmates to live with the Embera Drua tribe to record a single for new show 'Singing in the Rainforest' and will never forget the experience.
He said: "It was life changing.
"The more I thought about the offer, the more I thought, 'Why don't we bring the rest of the Happy Mondays along too?' "
The 'Step On' hitmaker - who previously won jungle reality show 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' - spent a lot of time in Panama close to nature but insists he never felt in danger.
He said: "All of us went to Panama to live and hunt with this indigenous tribe of musicians.
"We were hunting all kinds of birds, animals, giant rats... But the closest shave I had was with sunburn."
And Shaun can't wait for fans to hear the finished track.
He told NME magazine: "They had all sorts of drummers and percussionists and when the show comes out you'll be able to download the track that we made with them.
"It's the first piece of music the original Happy Mondays line-up have written since 1992."
