Sam Smith is "scared" about getting back on stage.
The 'Stay With Me' hitmaker has admitted he is worried about returning to life on the road after he was forced to cancel months of shows to undergo emergency surgery to save his voice.
When asked if he is ready for his upcoming tour, he told KISS FM: "I am. I'm scared. If anyone's listening I'm really going to try my absolute best, but I am scared though. It's quite intense to go into. But I love what I do and I wanted to do it, and hopefully I can hold it all together and perform every show."
In total, the 23-year-old singer took more than two months off as he recovered from his operation, but now has a packed schedule of festival appearances and a North American tour to take him through the summer.
Sam's troubles started back in April when he axed the remaining dates of his Australian tour due to being "vocally exhausted", later having surgery because he "had a small haemorrhage" on his vocal cords.
However, he is now set to return to Australia in November and December to make up for the string of shows he missed, with performances scheduled for Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Sydney.
