Robbie Williams was jealous of Harry Styles' collaboration with Bruno Mars.
The 'Party Like a Russian' hitmaker has revealed he couldn't help but be envious of the 22-year-old musician when he learned he had been writing with the '24K Magic' hitmaker, because he had previously been snubbed by Mars when he reached out for his assistance on his new album 'The Heavy Entertainment Show'.
Speaking to Radio Times about Styles, he said: "I met Harry Styles in an airport. [Robbie asked him] 'Oh you're writing, Harry? Great, who with?'"
To which, the dark-haired hunk replied: "'Well, I just spent a week with Bruno Mars, and I'm about to spend a week with Max Martin.'"
Although the news struck a chord with Williams, he has admitted he is happy for Styles and believes he is following in his footsteps.
Robbie - who split from the popular boy band Take That in 1995 and again in 2009 to embark on a solo career - said: "'Oh I'm super-duper happy for you' ... Bleurgh ... You're the new me. Good luck!"
And the 'Rock DJ' hitmaker has revealed he has high hopes for 'The X Factor' alumni - who came third in the talent competition with his fellow band members in 2010 - and believes Harry will do well in the charts as a solo artist purely because of his style, which Williams has likened to David Beckham's smart attire.
He shared: "I think Harry Styles has beguiled the whole world just by being Harry styles. He's got a David Beckham-style quality. So he's won in that regard. There's a space for him but the music has to be great."
Meanwhile, Williams insists he isn't bitter towards Mars, but has credited the 31-year-old artist as having the "best songs" at the moment.
He said: "He [Bruno] and his team have the best songs right now".
