Robbie Williams is looking forward to taking on Gary Barlow as they both release solo albums next month.

The 39-year-old star has been working on tenth studio album, 'Swings Both Ways' - due for release on November 18 - while Barlow will release 'Since I Saw You Last' a week later on November 25.

Robbie insists that his Take That band mate stands a good chance of selling more records than him since the 'Let Me Go' hitmaker has become a "national treasure", and if he succeeds it'll be his "crowning glory."

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I don't know if he is, but I am. Will I beat him? Well, he's a national treasure now. If he does outsell me, or win - he's been to places I haven't before - it'll be the crowning glory for him.

"If not, I'll be really happy, too. But either way, God bless him."

Robbie's 13-month-old daughter, Theodora Rose - who he had with actress wife Ayda Field - is his inspiration behind many of his songs and she brings out the best in him.

He added: "She has given me perspective and anchored me to the planet. It wasn't a bad place, the planet, before, floating about, but everything has a meaning now. I'm definitely around and present because she deserves the best me.

"It's going to be so boring though; I've got so many songs to write about her."
