The 24-year-old Scottish singer – who has relocated to the UK capital city from his native Scotland temporarily - enjoyed a late-night recording session at a studio in North West London to lay down music for his hotly-anticipated second LP.

By chance, Rita Ora was also recording at the same location at the same time, setting tongues wagging that the pop pair were working on a track together, but the two British superstars managed to somehow avoid running into each other, despite being pals.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz, a source said: “The sight of Lewis and Rita at the same studio at the same time obviously got fans very excited about the possibility of a new collaboration between the pair. However, Rita was working on her own material and Lewis was busy recording songs for his second album and they weren’t aware each other were there. Lewis is currently focused on getting his next LP done but who knows what could happen in the future?”

The duo previously worked together on Rita's single 'How To Be Lonely', which was released in March.

Lewis has become a global megastar since the release of his debut album, 'Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent', in May 2019.

Throughout the coronavirus lockdown, Lewis was busy writing and recording at his home studio in Scotland and his plan is to get his next record out in 2021 once he’d got the chance to produce it properly in the UK capital.

Speaking in July, he shared: "I’m working on the next album at the minute.

“Restrictions of lockdown are being lifted here so I think I’m going to be able to go to London in the next two weeks to start recording it properly."

Lewis also that lockdown had been a "fruitful” time for his music as he was able to pen lots of tracks.

The singer - whose last album featured the hit 'Someone You Loved' - explained: "I’ve got loads of songs done for it. I’ve written about 30 so far in the course of lockdown - it’s been a fruitful and a busy pandemic for me, but four of them are good. There are four songs that I’m pretty pleased with."
