Prince will play at a number of "iconic venues" across London in February.
The 'Raspberry Beret' hitmaker, who hasn't performed in the UK since 2011, is heading to the city on February 3 to kick of his 'Hit and Run' tour, celebrating the release of 'PLECTRUMELECTRUM', the debut album from his all-female rock band 3RDEYEGIRL.
He will stop off first at the home of London singer Lianne LaHavas, who met Prince last year during her tour of America. They jammed together at his Paisley Park Studio in Minneapolis and have kept in touch ever since.
The 24-year-old joked that the star could hold the press conference for his gigs in her flat and he has taken her up on the offer.
Prince's representatives say details of the event and tour are "very hush-hush" but will be announced soon.
The 55-year-old singer has been touring with 3RDEYEGIRL in North America and has been distributing new music via the band's website since last year.
Next month will be the first time the performer has played in the UK since his appearance at the Hop Farm Festival in 2011, and the first time he has played multiple dates since 2007, when he appeared for 21 nights at London's O2 Arena.
