Pharrell Williams hopes to work with Prince in the future.

The 'Happy' hitmaker insists it would be a dream to team up with the singer and lay down some new vocals in the studio.

He said: "I'd love to work with Prince. I would love to work with Steely Dan, Donald Fagen, I'd love to work with Elton John ... [Prince] makes us wonder why we all do this."

The 41-year-old singer and producer has also revealed he would love to write the next James Bond theme song, following in the footsteps of Adele, who won an oscar for her hit 'Skyfall'.

He said: "If they asked me to do it, like my own version? Yeah! Course! It'd be so fun. When The Beatles did it, it was amazing. Who wouldn't want that opportunity?"

Asked if he would record the vocal or ask another artist, he replied: "I wrestle with myself on things like that, but certainly if they insisted that I stay ... I would have to!

"But I would wrestle with myself on who would give the best performance, as that's what I am, I'm a producer at heart. A producer/artist."

The star also hinted that he could be collaborating with Usher after the singer revealed the pair had got together.

Pharrell told KISS FM: "I have to leave it up to him and his words, and how he wants to divulge and tell people.

"He has this way of revealing things so I'm going to respectfully stand back. But I will say that he has one of the most masterful voices, underrated, people really don't understand the depth and the skill that that dude has.

"And how would I know unless we had done something recently, but I don't know because... How would I know?"

Tune in to KISS Breakfast from 6am until 9am with Rickie Melvin and Charlie on KISS FM tomorrow (03.06.14) to hear the full interview with Pharrell.
