Paramore have given their fans an update on their highly-anticipated fifth studio album, taking to their Instagram account to write a lengthy post about the record.
Since they released their fourth album in 2013, bassist Jeremy Davis left the group after a decade helping form the band. Now though, Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Taylor York confirmed they would continue on under the same stage name as a duo, and confirmed they were writing new material.
Williams said on Instagram: “about a year ago, we began writing & demoing songs for #5 / / / following up our self-titled album didn't seem like it was going to be an easy task and, unsurprisingly, it was not. the problem about comparing yourself to... yourself... is that even though it's better than looking elsewhere, you're still looking in the wrong direction. for me, it wasn't until i trusted that the past is finished with me that i could go looking for what's next. our pasts can be a great comforter, or a horror movie; a noose, or a shield... but it is "past" for a reason. after a rest, we have to go looking for what's supposed to come after that. – h (sic)”.
It would seem that the rumours suggesting former Paramore drummer Zac Farro would be r-joining the group may be with substance after all, as Farro appeared in another shot on the group’s social media account behind the drum kit in Paramore’s studio. Whilst no official announcement has been made, it looks as if we should expect to hear his signature sound when Paramore’s fifth album does eventually hit shelves.
