Paloma Faith has hit out at pop sensation Taylor Swift, branding her "pathetic".
Unimpressed with Taylor's effort to copyright phrases such as "this sick beat" from her single 'Shake It Off', she believes the line was probably originally taken from another artist in the first place.
Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper she said: "F*** that! 'This sick beat' is probably something she's stolen from someone else."
Performing on the same bill as Taylor next week at the BRIT Awards, she went on to say the songwriter is "desperate" for attention, which is why she's differentiating herself with the line.
"It's kind of pathetic, if you want my honest opinion. Is she that desperate to stand out from the crowd? With her exclusive phrases? I think it shows a distinct lack of self-confidence."
Despite her outspoken attitude, Paloma is hoping to win big next Wednesday, February 25 at the ceremony, where she's nominated in the British Female Solo Artist category.
"I've got a chance.
"I was the only female in the top ten bestsellers last year. And if I was to win, no one can knock me for not trying because I've worked very hard. You might not like what I do, but you can't say I haven't put in the hours."
