Nile Rodgers

Nile Rodgers

Nile Rodgers has confessed he regularly cries over his favourite songs and films and is comfortable showing his emotions as a man.

The Chic musician and super-producer always gets emotional when watching the classic film, starring Audrey Hepburn, and admits he cries over many of his favourite pieces of music and movies.

He said: "I cry every time I see 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' when they go and get the car. Every time I saw Luther Vandross live I would say to myself, 'I'm not going to cry,' but I did.

"I cry every time I see 'West Side Story' when they sing 'Somewhere'."All those songs tell powerful stories of love and loss and emotion."

Although Nile, 61, is comfortable showing his emotions he doesn't want any tears at his funeral - something he has thought about since discovering he had prostate cancer in 2010 - because he wants mourners to celebrate his life.

Nile - who has beaten the disease and was given the all-clear again in July this year - told NME magazine: "I hope there's a f***ing party (at my funeral)! I'd want one of my own songs played. Wouldn't it be weird if I didn't?

"Maybe play 'I'm Coming Out' - it could make magic and I'll get back up from the casket. Or play 'Get Lucky' - I don't care!"
