The moment I left the Sugababes in 2009, so many fans and passers-by, even when we were not together, were like, 'You've got to get back with the girls'
Reunited Sugababes stars Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy have British TV host Lorraine Kelly to thank for their comeback as she sparked the inspiration for them to reunite.
The trio found fame in 2000 with their hit debut single Overload, but the band began to crumble the following year when Donaghy left.
She was followed by Buena in 2005 and Buchanan in 2009, and the group's name was taken over by a new line-up.
The girls finally reunited last year (12) and are pursuing a fresh pop career under the name Mutya Keisha Siobhan, and now Buchanan has revealed she was inspired to contact her former bandmates and discuss a comeback after seeing an interview with Buena on Kelly's self-titled morning show.
She tells British chat show This Morning, "The moment I left the Sugababes in 2009, so many fans and passers-by, even when we were not together, were like, 'You've got to get back with the girls'. And we actually, honestly, never thought we would. From there, I remember being at home and I saw Mutya on Lorraine Kelly and Lorraine was like, 'You might as well get back with the originals', and I was like, 'Hmm, oh my god, Lorraine's saying it too!'".
