Muse want to headline Glastonbury next year.
The 'Supermassive Blackhole' hitmakers wish they could perform at the iconic music event every summer, but are particularly keen to top the bill while promoting latest album 'Drones'.
Bassist Chris Wolstenholme said: "I think we would play Glasto every year if we could. It's probably the best festival in the world.
"We're all hoping we get to do it on this album. It's been a while."
This year, the band headlined heavy metal festival Download and enjoyed being able to show off their early influences and prove they were a suitable choice for the event.
Chris added: "I thought it was great. We've always felt that there's a very heavy side to the band.
"Our early influences were all heavy rock bands and some of those influences still remain, so, for us, we weren't the left-field choice some people thought we were."
The trio recently performed an intimate stripped-back gig at London's Electric Ballroom venue and found playing such a small show had a "stronger energy" to their stadium concerts.
Chris told Q magazine: "The Ballroom was awesome. Sometimes it's nice to strip away all the production because it brings all of the focus of the room to the band. There's definitely a stronger energy and it's nice to have the crowd so close to us."
