Missy Elliott feels "humbled" by the reaction to her new music video.
The 'Get Ur Freak On' hitmaker unveiled her first new music video in seven years for her first new song since 2012, 'WTF (Where They From)' and has confessed she's thrilled with the response she's received from fans and critics alike.
She wrote on Twitter: "Thank yall for so much love I'm humbled. now u can cop #WTF now on @AppleMusic!! #WTFMissy (sic)."
The 44-year-old star took the opportunity to urge other artists to keep working on new material.
She said: "I am a walking testimony don't giveup even when ppl doubt u Thank u God & my fans #WTFMissy (sic)."
Missy also thanked everyone involved in the release of the video - which features puppet versions of both her and her collaborator Pharrell Williams - for their help.
She added: "Lastly 2my peers who supported me I love yall & bloggers/radio/Dj's I cried from the outpour of love! Let's make it #1 (sic)."
Earlier this week the 'Pass That Dutch' rapper teased the release of both the song and the video.
She wrote: "I feel that fire coming! 2 MORE DAYS! Ooooh I can't wait no lie! Thursday hurry up we ready to set it off
"Let me put my thang down FLIP IT & RESERVE IT 1 DAY LEFT be4 takeoff #WTFMissy where they from yall ready (sic)."
