Michael Bublé didn't think he'd make music again following his son's cancer diagnoses.
The 'Haven't Met You Yet' hitmaker and his wife Luisana Lopilato were devastated when they found out that their son Noah, now five, was battling liver cancer in 2016, and Michael dropped his career in order to be there to support his family.
Now Noah is finally getting better, the 43-year-old crooner has made a return to making music, and says that whilst he finds performing to be a "true joy", there was a time when he thought he was finished for good.
Speaking to The Sunday Mirror's Notebook magazine, he said: "I thought I might never make music again. I knew if I came back into this world, it would have to be bliss. And it is. If it wasn't, I wouldn't be here.
"For two hours a night [at gigs] you can forget about how tough and cynical the world is and just dance with me. To me that's true joy."
Michael - who also has two-year-old son Elias with Luisana - recently admitted he "wished he didn't wake up" when he discovered his son's diagnoses.
He said: "It sucks. It still sucks. What we went through was the worst possible thing that you could hear as a parent, and as maybe a human being. I much rather would have it have been me. Many times I wish that it had been.
"[There were times we] wished we didn't wake up. I've been through a lot. One of the things about going through something that my family has been through is that it gives you great perspective and one of those points of [perspective] is that it really shows you to appreciate the good things."
But now his tot's cancer is in remission, Michael says everything in their lives has improved.
He added: "I truly thought I would never go back [to music]. I was done. It just seemed completely unimportant compared to what was going on with Noah. Things got very clear for me, very quickly. I live with no fear now. I've been to hell. [Now Noah's better], food never tasted so good, music never sounded so good, my relationship with my family, my faith ... all of it. My wife and I, we got happy, we fell in love again."
