Mark Knopfler has opened his own talent search, to find a fan willing to make his next music video for him.
Partnering with Talenthouse to find aspiring film and video directors, he wants help in making the video for new single 'Wherever I Go'.
Taken from his most-recent album 'Tracker' - released March 16 - the LP will act as his eighth solo studio record since the disbandment of Dire Straits in 1992.
Senior marketing manager at Virgin EMI Michael Rivalland said: "This is the first time Mark has ever done anything like this. Traditionally he is a private person but he's allowing music out there before the release of 'Tracker' to encourage a new generation of creatives to interpret and create from his work."
Being either filmed or animated, the video will be judged by a panel who decide which entrant has the best piece, awarding that winner $4,000 (£2,657) prize money in addition to their clip being used as the official video for the track.
Entrants now have until 6pm GMT on March 23 to submit their video ideas through the Talenthouse website.
