Madonna is performing a free intimate concert for Australian fans to thank them for waiting 23 years for her to perform Down Under again.
The 57-year-old pop megastar is putting on an exclusive, one-night-only club show, named 'Madonna: Tears of a Clown', at The Forum Theatre in Melbourne next Thursday (10.03.16).
The venue holds only 1,500 people and every ticket for the evening of "art, comedy, storytelling and music" is going to be given away for nothing to her loyal supporters.
In a statement, Madonna said: "I wanted to do something special for Australia because you have been so patient and waited so long. The 'Tears of a Clown' show will make its debut on March 10. Performance art, comedy, storytelling and music of course! Especially for my 'Rebel Heart' fans down under!"
Only lucky fans who signed up to Madonna's fan club before March 1 will be eligible to win tickets and to be in with a chance they must be over 18 and must upload photos of themselves excited about Madonna's return to Australia. Details can be found on Madonna.com.
The 'Hung Up' hitmaker first hinted at performing a music and comedy mash-up called 'Tears of a Clown' while on stage in Macau in February.
This weekend Madonna will play her first ever shows in New Zealand when she brings her 'Rebel Heart World Tour' to the Vector Arena in Auckland.
She then will play concerts at a string of arenas in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.
Madonna last performed in Australia in 1993 on her 'Girlie Show World Tour' in support of her fifth album 'Erotica'.
