The Madden Brothers have described Pharrell Williams as a "visionary" of the industry.

The twins Benji and Joey are best known as former band members of Good Charlotte, but have recently been working with Pharrell on their debut album as a duo, and couldn't praise him enough for understanding the direction they wanted to go musically.

Speaking to FAULT magazine, Benji said: "We worked a lot with Pharrell on the record - we wrote two songs on the record with him - he really gets the vision and supports it.

"Three years ago, when we decided to do this Madden Brothers thing, we told him how we wanted it to be and he was like, 'Yeah The Eagles, I can see that s**t.' He's a visionary and then we started writing songs [together]."

The brothers were photographed by Miles Holder for the 19th issue of the magazine and revisited many of the bands they listened to during their youth - including The Beach Boys and The Eagles - for inspiration when putting together their new album 'Greetings From California'.

Joel explains: "We listened to The Beach Boys, The Eagles and then, as teenagers, Sublime and then Dr. Dre's Chronic and all these hip hop records. We've been in California for 10 years and while we are from the East Coast, it was [always] our dream to get to California."

Debut single 'We Are Done' and the new album 'Greetings From California' are out now through Capitol Records.
