Louis Tomlinson will release his third solo single 'Miss You' on Thursday (30.11.17).
The One Direction Star took to Twitter over the weekend to reveal the much-anticipated follow-up to 'Back to You' with Bebe Rexha and 2016's 'Just Hold On' with Steve Aoki will come out ahead of his first live performance of the new track on 'The X Factor' final on Saturday (02.12.17).
He wrote: "New single 'Miss You' will be out this Friday with a performance on the @thexfactor final on the Saturday ! Can't wait for this one ! #missyou (sic)"
Louis' return to the ITV talent show - which he was a contestant on in with One Direction in 2010 - will come just over a year since he dedicated his performance of 'Just Hold On' to his late mother Johannah Deakin, who passed away following a battle with leukaemia days before.
The title 'Miss You' suggests the new song is about the loss of his parent.
The 25-year-old singer previously said performing on 'The X Factor' so soon after his mum died was the most difficult moment of his career.
He said previously: "I think in general, doing 'The X-Factor' with the Steve Aoki song was the most difficult time, but also weirdly the most rewarding as well. I definitely felt like I couldn't do it, and then I definitely felt the support from everyone around me, the friends and family but also the fans and people outside of that."
Meanwhile, though all of One Direction - also comprised of Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Harry Styles - are busy on their solo careers, they will be "coming back around at some point".
Asked if it has always been an aim of his to be a solo artist after he first entered 'The X Factor' as a solo artist, Liam said recently: "It's always been a dream. I wouldn't say it's always been an aim. Once One Direction started, it was just the passion. It was fantastic and it still is. It's coming back around at some point, I'm sure."
