Lionel Richie has once again taken the top of the album charts in the UK, shooting up 104 places with 'The Definitive Collection' and reaching number one with over 19,000 albums sold in Britain this week alone.
Following on from his performance at Glastonbury Festival - where he drew the biggest crowd of the weekend, playing to over 100,000 people - Lionel celebrated in true British fashion with a cup of tea.
After hearing the news, Lionel said: "I was overwhelmed performing at Glastonbury in front of all those people and for the fans to make the album No. 1 is unbelievable. The UK has always been a special place for me, thank you, I love you all."
Lionel will now continue to tour Europe, with dates including one on July 9 at The Henley Festival and another in the country on July 22 at Edinburgh Castle.
