Liam Payne denies being homophobic after confusing comment during One Direction concert

Liam Payne has taken to his Twitter account to deny being homophobic, after upsetting some fans in the crowd of a One Direction concert.

Introducing the song 'Girl Almighty' with his bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, Liam said: "This is my favourite song off the last album, and it is about trying to find that number one woman of your life, which none of you can relate to, 'cause most of you are girls. Except for the boys in here, you know what I'm talking about".

Addressing the comment, the 21-year-old insists he meant no harm and simply made the remarks before thinking straight.

On Twitter he said:
