Liam Gallagher has laughed off rumours he wanted to reform Oasis without his brother Noel.
The 43-year-old musician rubbished a so-called friend's comment that he considered "going it alone" and reforming the legendary rock band without the lead guitarist and said to "ignore" his pal.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, the 'Live Forever' hitmaker wrote: "Ignore him he's mentally ill and he's a utd fan LG x (sic)"
The Gallagher brother's mutual friend recently claimed on Facebook: "[Liam] was looking into the possibility of going out on his own with the original members of Oasis, but guess what Noel wouldn't endorse it (sic)"
However, the 49-year-old rocker - who quit the band in 2009 following a furious backstage bust-up with his brother Liam - recently admitted he wouldn't have minded if Liam and the rest of the group - who reunited as Beady Eye - wanted to continue to perform as Oasis.
He said: "On the day that I left, they could have had the name if they'd have en masse, called me up. I would have signed the name off to them but they didn't."
It comes after Liam said his brother is "too busy being beige" to reform the Britpop group.
Teasing his musical comeback, Liam said: "Listen up no oasis reunion Rkids not into it I am hes to busy being beige new sounds on there way stay cool and most of all relevant LG x ...
"Not into jumping onto something that happened 20 years ago it was your idea you massive potato who you trying to kid mr showbizz ...
"If I was desperate to get oasis back I wouldn't be destroying your so called GOD on this ere Twitter no cap in hand MAN YANA LG x (sic)"
