Liam Gallagher has branded arch-nemesis Noel Gallagher a "soft" Ronan Keating-type for ending Oasis due to their infamous brawling.
The siblings' legendary Britpop group Oasis met its demise following a backstage bust-up between the feuding pair at their final concert at Rock En Seine festival in Paris in 2009.
Noel, 56, walked out on the 'Some Might Say' group because he couldn't take Liam's allegedly hostile behaviour towards him, but Liam insists they were both as bad as each other and that is "what made Oasis what it was".
He explained in an ever-candid interview with The Guardian newspaper: “That was my behaviour since day one, and his. That’s what made Oasis what it was."
Comparing his brother, the defunct group's guitarist and songwriter, to Boyzone member Ronan, 46, the former frontman, 51, continued: “I wasn’t any different, but all of a sudden, he’s turned into Ronan Keating or some soft [redacted], going: ‘We can’t have that behaviour.'"
Liam - who has since had his successful solo career and has teamed up with ex-Stone Roses guitarist John Squire, 61, on an upcoming album - cannot understand how Noel has a problem with him and will have former Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan as a support act for his solo shows with his High Flying Birds after he was ousted from the 'Club Foot' band after he assaulted his now-spouse, Vikki Ager.
Liam fumed: “Meanwhile, [these days] he’s out on tour with [ex-Kasabian frontman] Tom Meighan, who’s allegedly, apparently …
“And yet you won’t get back in a band with me because I’m a [redacted]’?! Eh, chill out, mate.”
Liam says Noel not only destroyed his life but those behind the scenes who lost their jobs when he "pulled the plug" on the ‘Wonderwall’ group.
He went on: "[It was an] absolute nightmare … I was sitting at home with no management, no office, and no one to really speak to, while Noel was still walking into his big management office having everyone running around after him, getting smart and dissing people.
"Looking back with hindsight, you can go: ‘You’re a big boy’ and all that, but when you’ve had all that stuff for 20 years … I could barely tie my shoelace let alone run my business or my life. All that support was taken away, but little Noely G had it all still there."
He added: "If you want to do your little thing because you’re not getting enough attention, feel free, mate. I’ll go to Barbados and sit on a beach for six months, but don’t be pulling the plug on the band. That’s the way I saw it ... "
