The 'Sex on Fire' hitmakers will perform at the intimate 229 club on Great Portland Street to celebrate the release of their new album 'WALLS'.

Tickets go on sale at 1pm and those wanting to catch their set at the small venue will only be able to purchase a single ticket.

However, there will be the chance to win tickets on the band's social media channels.

Meanwhile, the indie rock group - comprised of brothers Caleb, Jared and Nathan Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill - are dead set on playing Glastonbury Festival, which is held at Worthy Farm in Somerset, south west England, next year because it is due to go on a break in 2018.

Singer Caleb told the BBC: "We love Glastonbury.

"I think that was the first festival we played in Europe. Do they still do it where it's on one year, off one year to the grass grow? ... OK, then we'll have to get on it in 2017. I'll have to text Mr Eavis."

The band last headlined the music extravaganza in 2008.

Kings of Leon worked on the follow-up to 2013's 'Mechanical Bull' with Coldplay and Florence + The Machine's producer, Markus Dravs.

The album is full of "personal stories" including a song about Caleb's alcohol addiction and a haunted house stay experienced by his wife Lily Aldridge.

The 34-year-old rocker previously explained: "There are a lot of personal stories on this album... We're still hungry and still young at heart."

He says his supermodel spouse's brush with the supernatural inspired love song 'Find Me'.

He said: "She stayed in this hotel in Los Angeles. This is going to sound weird and a lot of people will roll their eyes, but she felt like it was haunted. When she tells the story, it's the scariest thing. So I took that and turned it into a love story."

'WALLS' is out now.
