Kendrick Lamar is looking forward to meeting Lorde at the Grammy Awards.
The 'Swimming Pools' rapper was very impressed by the teenage singer - who came from nowhere in 2013 to score a huge international hit with 'Royals' - at the ceremony in Los Angeles at the end of this month, as well as electronic producer James Blake.
He said: "I'm most excited to meet Lorde. I'm really feeling 'Royals'. And I want to see James Blake."
Kendrick wrote his debut LP - 'good kid, m.A.A.d city - about his hometown of Compton, part of Los Angeles, and says he finds it amazing when he heard people singing his lyrics back to him in other countries.
He said: "Our story hadn't been told in a long time, so I'm just giving the world a view of the city from my perspective. When people are rapping your verse to you in the UK, it lets you know how big of an influence you have. But you still have to show your face [in Compton] and give back."
Kendrick also still can't believe he is nominated for seven awards at the Grammys.
He added to People magazine: "[I want to win] all of them! But anybody will say the biggest one is Album of the Year. I didn't quite understand the Grammys when I was young. I wish I could go back to the 80s and focus and really think about one day being there."
