Kasabian member Tom Meighan has insisted that the BRIT Awards simply don't matter.
Claiming he isn't bothered about his band's snub at the annual awards ceremony - taking place on Wednesday, February 25 at London's O2 Arena - he said he'd prefer to stay home with his two-year-old daughter Mimi and perform for her instead.
Speaking at the NME Awards last night, Meighan said: "My favourite awards show is playing the guitar at home for my daughter."
The rocker continued to say that winning awards doesn't matter for the band's music, and that having a happy and healthy family comes first.
"Mate, it's like I've been saying, the BRITs don't matter. The things that matter are your health, your family and that you're OK. Awards mean whatever it is, what people aspire to."
Whilst the BRITs nominations were announced last month, Sergio spoke about the snub at the time, calling it a "conspiracy" in a bid to "shut rock 'n' roll out".
He said: "It's sad really that we're the spokespeople for rock 'n' roll, you got to remember me and Serge are 34 years old, what does that mean?"
