Nordoff Robbins have today announced two more winners of its O2 Silver Clef Awards with both Duran Duran and Kasabian being the recipients of the accolades this year, along with nine other winners. The 11 acts will collect their awards at the annual O2 Silver Clef Lunch on July 3 at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
Celebrating a huge career spanning over 37 years, Duran Duran will be receiving the Spotify Lifetime Achievement Award after their 14 Top 10 UK Singles, 21 Billboard Hot 100 entries and over 120 million records sold worldwide. The prize will add to Duran Duran's two Grammys, two Brits and a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
Meanwhile, Kasabian exploded onto the music scene in 1997, since releasing five studio albums including their latest, '48:13'.
Chatting about their award, Kasabian said: "We've admired Nordoff Robbins work for some years now and are honoured to be receiving the Royal Albert Hall Best Band Award at the O2 Silver Clef Lunch. As musicians, it means a lot to us to be recognised by a charity which does such great work using music to help people."
Director of Events at the Royal Albert Hall, Lucy Noble said of Kasabian's win: "We are thrilled that Kasabian have won this year's Royal Albert Hall Best Band Award. I was lucky enough to see them perform at the Hall and their three shows here have been truly amazing, showing what an explosive, exciting and unique group they are."
Seven other winners have already been announced for this year's awards, with James Bay taking Jack Daniel's Best Newcomer, Jake Bugg named as AEG Live Best Male, Rita Ora as Vevo Best Female, Mark Ronson given the American Express Innovation Award, Primal Scream take the Investec Icon Award, Il Divo given the PPL Classical Award and Iron Maiden get the O2 Silver Clef Award.

Huge names have been honoured in the past such as David Bowie, Sir Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Sir Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, The Bee Gees, Kylie Minogue, Michael Buble, Pharrell Williams and more.
Nordoff Robbins CEO Julie Whelan commented: "It is because of events like the O2 Silver Clef Awards that Nordoff Robbins is able to continue to deliver essential music therapy services to vulnerable and isolated people across the UK. Since 1976, the event has brought together artists from all areas of the music industry, raising an incredible £8.5 million in the process."
O2's Nuala Donnelly adds: "O2 is incredibly proud to be associated with Nordoff Robbins and to be working with them on their 40th Anniversary. After 12 years of working together on the O2 Silver Clef Awards our admiration for their work continues to grow and we look forward to helping them raise more much needed funds."
