Joss Stone the 25-year-old singer always tries to remain positive when faced with adversity and even after the plot at her home in 2011 she used her love of dogs to get through it
She said: “I always try to turn anything negative that happens into a positive. It wasn’t the easiest thing in this instance, but in time I got there. ‘OK,’ I thought, ‘this is the perfect excuse for me to get more puppies!’ ”
First surprised by an ex-boyfriend eight years ago with poodle Dusty, Joss bought Missy – a Rottweiler – not long after, before the attempted kidnap made her decide to buy Igor, a Caucasian Shepherd which is a notoriously violent breed, shortly followed by Colie-German Shepherd Maggie.
The ‘You Had Me’ hitmaker insisted the owners are to blame for examples of the likes of Igor becoming aggressive.
She explained: “I believe very strongly that it’s not the breed that’s the issue, it’s the owner. Take pitbulls. I understand why they’re banned after all the accidents there have been involving them.
“But those particular dogs had been brought up and encouraged to be aggressive by people who should never have been allowed to own them in the first place.
“They’re actually lovely creatures, the sweetest, softest things. It’s all about how they’re raised.”
