Jonas Blue has this week returned to the music scene with his brand new single ‘We Could Go Back’, featuring the insanely talented Moelogo. Already close to reaching six million streams on Spotify alone (at time of writing), the song’s the second highest new artist entry on the UK Spotify Chart this week so far. Released via Positiva/Virgin EMI, the song marks the latest release from a man who has already racked up sales of nearly 19 million singles to-date, taking in over three billion streams worldwide and showing no signs of slowing down.
Many may remember him from multi-platinum debut single ‘Fast Car’, which became last year’s biggest-selling single across the globe from a British debut artist and thrust Jonas right into the spotlight. Proving he wasn’t a one hit wonder, his second single ‘Perfect Strangers’ also saw platinum sales awards in multiple countries, before his memorable collaboration on third single ‘By Your Side’, with rising British star RAYE.
This summer, Jonas’ gold-certified single ‘Mama’ may not have done as many sales as those that came before it, but it was a staple song of the year and remained in the Top 10 in the UK Official Singles Charts for 11 consecutive weeks. Combining that with the 318 million plus plays on YouTube, and it’s clear Jonas’ star shows no signs of stopping shining. The artist even produced Craig David’s latest single ‘Heartline’, and he’ll serve as one of three British ambassadors for the MTV European Music Awards in London later this month.
Now, Jonas is continuing work on his debut album and cementing his legacy as not only a talented songwriter, producer and DJ, but talent spotter and taste maker.
