The 'All I Have' hitmaker worked with PPL, the music licensing agency, before becoming a chart-topping pop star and has alleged she was let go from her "boring" role because she spent too long going in the bathroom.

She told Q magazine: "I drink a lot of water.

They fired me an escorted me from the building."

However, the flame-haired singer/songwriter also confessed that she found her former job there "mind-numbingly boring" and admitted to "falling asleep" whilst on shift.

Meanwhile, Jess recently revealed she is on a mission to save the world's oceans from plastic pollution.

The 'These Days' hitmaker's rider will not accept plastic bottles of water on her tour rider because of the damage the containers do to the environment, especially aquatic wildlife.

Discussing her rider requests in an exclusive interview with BANG Showbiz, she said: "I don't think I do have anything that crazy on my rider ... People are sometimes thrown back by the fact that I have glass bottled water but I'm all about saving the ocean and I'm against plastic."

Jess would be lost on the road without her smartphone because she likes to be in constant contact with her friends and family when she is travelling the world to sing to her fans.

She added: "The most important things for me on the road are good food, lots of water and I guess my phone so I can keep in touch with all my family and friends. I'm playing at Albert Hall in Manchester this Sunday for my fans to celebrate Huawei's latest phone, the Mate 20 lite which is great for gigs."

Jess - who recently released her second album 'Always In Between' - loves to perform but she does miss home when she's away for months on end because she isn't sleeping in her own bed.

The 'Take Me Home' singer said: "My favourite thing about home is my family, my friends and the comfort of my own space and my own bed."
