James Blunt has announced his new album will be called 'The Afterlove'.
The 42-year-old singer/songwriter has completed work on his fifth studio LP - the follow-up to 2013's 'Moon Landing' - and will be releasing the record on March 24 through Atlantic Records.
Blunt is known for his wit and self-deprecating humour on his Twitter account and he logged onto the micro-blogging site to upload a cheeky video of himself in the bath to tell the world about his album.
In the footage, he is seen sat in bubble covered water and then says, "Hey guys, it's been a while, take a look I've got something huge to show you," the camera pans down to show the artwork for the LP as he adds, "It's my new album 'The Afterlove'."
Blunt has been in the studio with an array of the top songwriters in the music business, including his close friend Ed Sheeran, Ryan Tedder, Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid, The Weeknd collaborator Stephen Moccio, MoZella - who has worked with Miley Cyrus and One Direction - and Ed's long-time studio partner Amy Wadge.
Last year, 'I Took a Pill in Ibiza' hitmaker Mike Posner revealed he had worked on some songs with the 'Goodbye My Lover' hitmaker, but was unsure if they'll feature on the final tracklist.
Posner previously said: "I wrote with James Blunt this year. We wrote a couple of songs on the piano. I'm not sure if they'll make his album but we'll see. It was pretty cool. He's really talented so I was so happy to work with him."
Blunt has also confirmed he is embarking on a UK headline tour which includes a date at London's Eventim Apollo with tickets going on sale at 9am this Friday (27.01.17).
Blunt surprised his 1.3 Twitter followers back in December when he teased plans to drop a record whilst referring to the various depressing events that occurred in 2016.
He tweeted: "If you thought 2016 was bad - I'm releasing an album in 2017."
