James Bay has been named the winner of the 2015 BRITs Critics' Choice Award.
The singer-songwriter beat off competition from over 100 potential future stars to take the prize, with Years & Years and George The Poet named as runners up.
Speaking about the win, James said: "I'm pretty speechless. After all the years I've spent watching the BRITs and even after this year; watching my fan base grow so much, I never thought I'd actually be getting an award myself. And what a huge honour to be following the incredible artists who've won before! I'm really chuffed, thank you to everyone who has supported me."
He'll receive the award at the BRITs Are Coming nominations show on January 15 ahead of the main show at London's The O2 on February 25.
As well as scooping the trophy, James will perform on the show as well as Clean Bandit and FKA Twigs.
A panel of experts chose James to win the award - one that has been previously won by the likes of Jessie J, Adele and Sam Smith.
