Jake Bugg's new album is influenced by Smooth radio.
The 'Two Fingers' hitmaker has been enjoying the easy-listening sounds of the classic tracks played on the station and admires the "warmth" of the songs.
He said: "I've been listening to Smooth Radio.
"Those songs from the '70s, there was a warmth about them that you just don't get in pop nowadays."
The "diverse" record also features elements of "cool hip-hop".
Jake said: "My makes back in Clifton listen to grime and hip-hop, but if I can take some cool hip-hop elements but mix them with guitar as well, then I feel like it's still me.
"I think this album is very diverse, every track is different, but hopefully there's still enough to please the old fans as well."
The 21-year-old singer has been working hard on the as-yet untitled album all year and is planning a tour in 2016, but hoping to get some time off before going on the road.
He told Q magazine: "It might look to the world like I've been away for a year, but I've been working on this record solid every year.
"I've still not even had a proper holiday. So I quite fancy Hawaii - if I can get the time off."
