Jake Bugg won't collaborate with anyone unless they ask him and have a "decent idea".
The 22-year-old singer-songwriter will never reach out to another artist and ask to work with them on a music project unless they approach him first because the people he'd like to team up with are now no longer alive.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "Most of the people of I'd like to collaborate with probably aren't alive anymore. We'll just have to wait and see.
"I'm not the kind of person to go asking people. If people want to ask me and they have a pretty decent idea then I'll maybe be up for it."
The 'Lighting Bolt' hitmaker is set to release his second LP 'On My One' next month and he believes two of the tracks wouldn't have come together if he hadn't returned to his hometown of Nottingham in north England.
He said: "I think if I hadn't gone back to Nottingham to record a couple of the songs I'm not sure I would have ended up with the two song that I got from it without being in the studio there and it definitely helped with the record."
Meanwhile, Jake - who was previously romantically linked to Cara Delevingne - revealed the latest single 'Bittersalt' was inspired by a past on/off relationship.
He said: "'Bittersalt' is about an on and off relationship and I feel a lot of people have that experience of kind of feeling like when you are with a person you don't want to be with them but when you are with them you don't want to be."
For the record Jake had a go at self-producing some of the songs and when asked if he'd consider producing his own album next time round, he said: "It's hard to tell. I want every record to be different. We'll just have to wait but I might try working with a few different people. Or I might have another crack it on my own."
'On My One' is released on June 17.
