Jade Thirlwall takes aim at Simon Cowell in her debut solo single 'Angel Of My Dreams'.
The Little Mix star aims a jibe at the former 'X Factor' judge in the new track after the girl group switched from Simon's defunct record label SyCo to RCA during the making of their album 'LM5' in 2018.
The song features the line 'Sold my soul to Syco' and she also appears to have targeted Simon in the music video, which shows Jade as a young star attempting to find fame while a mysterious man smoking a cigar seemingly controls the industry.
The 31-year-old singer's spokesperson has refused to comment on the reference to Cowell but Jade has previously discussed how the 'X Factor' winners were thwarted in their attempts to promote a message of girl power.
Quizzed on the lack of female empowerment in Little Mix's music videos, she said: "We did a little bit but we had a switch of labels during the LM5 process and that really f***** us over.
"It was harder to put all our creativity out there in the way we would have liked.
"The LM5 album was very heavy on women’s rights and our experiences in the industry."
It was revealed last month that Jade is "sitting on a good song" that she collaborated with Jax Jones on and the 'Never Be Lonely' star is hoping that the tune sees the light of day.
He told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "It’s a good song. If she wants to use it, it’s there.
“Miley Cyrus and Pharrell Williams released 'Doctor', which was recorded years ago, so you never really know what will happen.
"But I know I have written some cool music with Jade, and we are still cool and we vibe.”
