Hot Chocolate frontman Errol Brown has died at the age of 71 in his home in the Bahamas, it has been confirmed today by the singer's manager Phil Dale.
Brown had been suffering from liver cancer.
His band Hot Chocolate had a huge run of hits in the 1970s and 1980s, including 'Emma', 'You Sexy Thing' and 'It Started With A Kiss'.
He was made an MBE back in 2003 for services to popular music, and the year after saw him pick up the Ivor Novello Award for outstanding contribution to British music.
Following a farewell tour back in 2009 he retired from music.
"It's just time to say goodbye, to be honest. And to thank everybody for everything they've done and the support I've been given, and sail off into the sunset." he said ahead of that string of shows.
