Guy Garvey has today dropped his debut solo music video for track 'Angela's Eyes', taken from his first solo album coming later this year.
Filmed in Whalley Range, Manchester at The Carlton Club by long-time visual collaborators Soup Collective, the film sees Guy and his band focus on the attentions of a crowd of lascivious women, after the group were inspired by a documentary on London's 60s strip clubs.
Laws at the time banned naked women from moving so a man was employed to operate a curtain which would rise and fall to allow the performers to change their positions.
Guy's version sees gender roles switched for an extremely thought provoking and eye-opening piece.
Debut solo album 'Courting the Squall' is released on CD, vinyl and download on October 30, with limited quantities of the CD and vinyl coming with a lentricular sleeve.
Guy will go on a series of tour dates throughout Europe and the UK in November and December, with dates as follows:
- Thurs 26 Nov - Brussels, Ancienne Belgique
- Sat 28 Nov - Berlin, Postbahnof
