Gem Archer has been "looking at life differently" since he fractured his skull.
The Beady Eye guitarist was put out of action by the injury when he fell down the stairs at home this summer, but is glad to be back on the road with the 'Iz Rite' band for their autumn tour.
He said: "I'm fine [now]. More than fine, in fact. Looking at life differently now, which I see as a bonus."
Gem's problems got worse after his initial injury, as he then broke his leg, again at home, while recovering.
He added to NME magazine: "The first one, I slipped and fell and fractured my skull, and I can't remember much about it. The second one - apparently, isn't uncommon for people who have fractured skulls to have a further injury."
The musician was seen at a recent concert watching from the sidelines with a shaggy beard and long hair, which he says was a by-product of his being ill.
While he feels guilty about the band having to abandon shows, he was looking forward to getting back on stage when the tour started last week.
He said: "There was an element of guilt on my part because we had to cancel shows. I'm not anxious [about returning], but I was looking forward to getting a few shows under my belt."
