The Fizz's new single 'Amen' was written by Cheryl Baker's daughter.

The pop group - made up of three original members of Bucks Fizz; Mike Nolan, Jay Aston and Cheryl, and Bobby McVay - unveiled a Halloween-inspired video for the track this week and also gave a spooky performance of the song on 'Lorraine' on Tuesday morning (31.10.17).

Cheryl, 65, admits the song is her favourite on their album 'The F-Z of Pop' - produced by studio wizard Mike Stock and his son James - because it was penned by her daughter Kyla but given a Fizz spin from its original style.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, she said: "'Amen is my favourite song on the album because my daughter wrote it, I can say that categorically. She sent a song in and it was in a very basic form, with her singing and playing a mini-guitar recorded on her iPhone. She's a prolific songwriter, that's what she does but she writes songs for herself and this is the first time anybody else has recorded one of her songs. So she sent it into Mike Stock and his son James and they loved it and said, 'Yeah, we're going to do it.' I was just over-the-moon that we were going to do one of my daughter's songs for our album and it just turned out so brilliantly."

Cheryl hopes the track will lead to Kyla - who has a twin sister Natalie, the 'The Land of Make Believe' singer's kids with husband Steve Stroud - writing songs for lots of other pop stars in the future.

She added: "I'm so proud of her but it is what she does, it's how she earns a living. I think this'll be the start of her writing songs for other artists because she can make a name for herself. Once it's out there people will hopefully be like, 'Oh, I like that, I wonder if she will write a song for me?'"

Cheryl - who has just been confirmed as a contestant on the upcoming comeback series of 'Dancing On Ice' - and The Fizz are touring the UK until mid-November and their album 'The F-Z of Pop' is out now.
