Ellie Goulding feels like her music is made for "the future" because it can take a while to "take off".
The 'On My Mind' hitmaker was anxious about releasing her poppier third studio album 'Delirium' last November because it's markedly different to her previous LPs 'Lights' and 'Halcyon'.
She explained: "I sometimes feel I write music for the future. It doesn't always take off when I first release it."
But, she needn't worry as she's received a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance for her single 'Love Me Like You Do' at the prestigious awards ceremony.
And on hearing she'd been shortlisted, Ellie was so overwhelmed she had to take a nap and afterwards she felt tearful.
She told The Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I found out about my Grammy nomination and I was just like, 'Oh, great', and I had to have a nap. When someone woke me up 10 minutes later I wanted to cry."
Fame hasn't always been easy for the 29-year-old singer, who has suffered with panic attacks in recent months.
Recalling a trip to A&E after suffering heart spasms, she shared: "I was having these huge heart palpitations and it was really scary."
