Recording has finished for Ed Sheeran on his second album.
The 'Small Bump' singer tweeted fans to reveal the follow-up to his 2011 debut '+' is complete after more than a year of working on tracks.
The 22-year-old musician also posted a photograph on Instagram last night (04.11.13) of himself with legendary producer Rick Rubin and regular collaborator Johnny McDaid from Snow Patrol.
He wrote: "2 years of record making right there folks," before adding: "Finished. And I managed to get Rick to smile in a photo."
The star recently asked his friend and musician Taylor Swift for advice on his new material and has teased a release date of February 2014.
He said: "Whenever I finished a song, I'd send it to [Swift] to get her opinion. She's heard all the songs and she's a good judge of what's good or not good."
Ed has spent time out in Nashville, Tennessee and Los Angeles over the past year while working on the record.
He previously told Rolling Stone magazine he wants to record three albums in three years and revealed Rick, who has worked with Eminem and Jay Z, lives up to his guru-like reputation in the studio.
The star said: "He's got one beanbag [chair] in [this big room] and two speakers by the beanbag, and you sit on the beanbag and play him tunes,
"It's completely sparse -- there's nothing in it but a beanbag and two speakers. It's f***ing amazing. He's been a very, very helpful guy."
Ed has also been promoting his song 'I See Fire', which he wrote for Peter Jackson's upcoming film 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug'.
