Performing at the Bataclan concert hall in Paris on November 13, Eagles of Death Metal were caught up in one of the most horrific terror attacks in history, leaving at least 90 people dead in the one venue alone.
Speaking to VICE, the band have explained what they saw on that tragic night, and told of how they managed to escape the concert hall with their lives.
The group talk about British fan Nick Alexander, who was the merchandising manager for the group and who was shot dead protecting his friend by "staying quiet and never call[ing] for help until he bled out, because he didn't want anyone else to get hurt".
Lead singer Jesse Hughes and fellow co-founder Josh Homme have now said they want to return to Paris "to be the first band to play in the Bataclan when it opens back up".
He continued: "We have to finish the tour. Not only for our friends and our fans, not only for Nick Alexander, not only because this is our way of life."
Mr Hughes also mentioned how he came face-to-face with one of the gunmen, and it was actually a doorframe which saved his life.
"I saw the shooter. He turned and brought the gun down on me but the barrel hit the doorframe."
Sound engineer Shawn London was also spotted by one of the gunmen. London said: "He looked right at me. He shot at me and missed. It hit my console and buttons went flying everywhere."
The band say they want to reach out to anyone there on the night, and pledged to donate the royalties from covers of their music to the families of the victims, challenging streaming services to do the same.
