Dizzee Rascal says getting to work with Calvin Harris on their new song 'Hype' was a "blessing".
The 'Bonkers' rapper is thrilled that seven years after the release of their first smash hit, 2008's 'Dance Wiv Me', that they got to collaborate again, especially now the Scottish superstar DJ is a massive global star.
Asked who's featuring who on the track, Dizzee, 31, told Dave Berry on the Capital FM's London Breakfast radio show: "We opted for a collaboration. Straight, me and him. Which at this point where he is in his life, and career, is a blessing."
It is the first time Dizzee and the 'Outside' hitmaker have actually worked on a song in person together.
On what is like to work with the 32-year-old hunk, he said "You know what, good. Its been 7 years, but 'Dance Wiv Me' and 'Holiday' are the tracks we did together and we never recorded those in a studio together. So this is the first track where we have sat together in the studio."
Dizzee debuted 'Hype' when he performed a surprise set at Capital FM's Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium earlier this month, which he said was "weird" as no one knew the song, but he loved the crowd's reaction.
He said: "It was really good because I played this new tune that no one's heard of. I played it to 80,000 people who didn't know I was there. Playing a song no one knows, was a bit weird, but nice and the crowd went off on one."
'Hype is the Londoner's first release since his 2013 album 'The Fifth'.
Dizzee is currently working on his eagerly-anticipated sixth studio LP.
As for Calvin he's currently riding high on the success of his song with Rihanna, 'This Is What You Came For'.
'Hype' is out now.
