Deacon Blue's Lorraine
Deacon Blue are unsure whether their next album will be their last.
The 'Diginity' band are preparing to release their latest studio album, 'A New House', but singer Ricky Ross - who is joined in the group by Lorraine McIntosh, James Prime and Dougie Vipond - says there's no guarantee that they will make more music together in the future.
Asked whether they've spoken about making another album, Ricky told BANG Showbiz: "We've never had the discussion. It's not because we don't want to, there's always just enough to get on with at any given time that we don't have that big discussion.
"We're all doing other things and then enjoying the time we get to spend together. We just wait until something comes up. But from my point of view, I've really enjoyed it because it's been creative [and] I feel really stimulated."
Ricky explained that the band will reassess the situation in a year's time, but insisted they would only make more music together because they enjoy it, rather than due to commercial pressures.
He added: "It's just like, 'Oh, we've got three weeks in the studio to cut some songs', and all of us are of an age now when we feel that's just a great release.
"To me, making a record is still the holy grail. It's still that thing that you dream about, you imagine and you think it's what you came in to do - to make an album. It's still a very precious thing, for me."
'A New House' is released on September 8.
