Damien Rice has revealed plans to release a new LP.

The 40-year-old singer's forthcoming collection 'My Favourite Faded Fantasy' will mark his first album in eight years, following on from the prize-winning 2002 record 'O'.

Co-produced by Def Jam records founder Rick Rubin, 'My Favourite Faded Fantasy' is to hit shelves on Monday, November 3.

"Sometimes you have to step away from what you love in order to learn how to love it again." said Damien.

He continued: "I came to Rick mostly based on what I didn't know about him, rather than what I did. For some reason I just had a feeling that I would feel comfortable being open and being me and being vulnerable with Rick."

Rubin had been a fan of Rice for over a decade, and said: "He was my favourite new artist at the time. A lot of our work together was to help him see what was so clear to everyone else in the room."

The album's first single 'I Don't Want To Change You' is available to play on Spotify today.
