Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has embraced philosophy for her new record 'Only Human'.
The singer's featured an except on the compilation from philosopher Alan Watts after being inspired by the guru.
Introduced by a friend to his work in 2013, Cheryl feels it's profound that she's now added some of his words to her new album.
Speaking to The Sun about the moment she first was made aware of his world, Cheryl said: It really made me think."
She added: "a lot of people ask themselves when they're not sure what they want to do in life. He says 'Whatever you want your life to be, live it'. I was really moved by it".
The excerpt is taken from an audiobook of Watts' work and is to open the album, reflecting on how money isn't always something that brings happiness.
It reads: "I always ask the question. What would you like to do if money was no object? How would you really enjoy spending your life? If you say getting the money is the most important thing, you will spend your life completely wasting your time."
'Only Human' is released November 7, following new single 'I Don't Care' on November 2.
