Following the incredible success of his breakthrough single ‘Dancing On My Own’, Calum Scott is back with the brand new music video for his latest single ‘Rhythm Inside’. Shot in the UK, the visuals are directed by Howard Greenhalgh and aims to bring to life the first spark and first-touch goosebumps any individual feels when they make an instant connection with someone special.
Calum co-wrote the track alongside Corey Sanders and Cutfather, recording in London before Fraser T Smith stepped in to work on production. Weaving gorgeous synths and beats throughout whilst Calum’s beautiful vocals glide over the piece, the song is a unique showcase of Calum’s tremendous talents.
Chatting about the song, Calum explained: “’Rhythm Inside’ is my first original piece of music and the concept is about those feelings you have when you meet that special person.
“I see it as the exciting inner journey you go through – I imagine the blood rushing through your veins, your hair standing on end, and the flutters that you have in your belly. Most people have had that feeling about someone at some point in their lives and it’s nice to be able to write something hopeful.”
Hull-residing Calum has had an incredible journey to-date and kicked 2017 off in style, appearing on Good Morning America to and scoring a Radio 1 Track of the Day with ‘Rhythm Inside’. He also put on a stunning performance during the BRITs launch last weekend (Saturday January 14), where he picked up a nomination for Best British Single.
Now he continues to work on his upcoming debut studio album, slated for release in late spring 2017. Writing with a selection of hand-picked collaborators at the legendary Capitol Towers studio, he’s worked and recorded with Wayne Hector, Steve Robson and Jimmy Hogarth alongside the aforementioned Fraser T Smith.
