Kings of Leon say "having babies saved our band."
The rock band - which includes brothers Caleb, Nathan, Jared and cousin Matthew Followill - are thankful that they took a six-month break following their Australia tour in 2011 and had their families in mind when they began working on their new album 'Mechanical Bull'.
Nathan - who welcomed a baby girl with his wife Jessie Baylin in December 2012 - explained: "Having a family gives you so much more responsibility. Now there is someone else in my life that is the most important -- when I was writing, I was thinking 'I wanna write something to make my daughter proud.' I want her to be, like: 'Wow, Dad's cool!' Although I know I never will be that to her."
Caleb - who had a daughter wife Lily Aldridge in June 2012 - added: "Having babies has saved our band."
They found making their sixth album - which will be released on September 24 - a lot of fun as there was a "hunger" in them.
Nathan says: "We're reinvigorated. It's fast and it's something we enjoyed making as well as playing."
Caleb told The Sun newspaper: "Making this, there was a hunger in us again. You can tell we're doing it because we want people to hear it.
"With the break we had, getting away from each other then having kids and being around babies, it makes you just wanna have more fun."
